BitWaldex ("us", "we", "our") warrants to the original purchaser that its hardware wallet product, excluding software or content supplied with the product, will be free from defects in material or workmanship and fit for its intended purpose during the applicable Warranty Period. The Warranty Period is two (2) years from the date of purchase, as evidenced by proof of purchase. For replaced products, the warranty extends for thirty (30) days from the date of replacement or the remainder of the original Warranty Period, whichever is longer. This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser while they own the product, provided it was purchased new from BitWaldex or an authorized reseller. Proof of purchase (showing date, place, and reseller details) is required.
Under the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA), you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund for defective products within six (6) months of purchase, at no cost, if the product fails to meet quality standards. Beyond this period, our two-year warranty applies as described above. Our liability is limited to the product itself, and we are not responsible for incidental or consequential damages, including loss of data or cryptocurrency stored on the product, except as required by the CPA.
We do not guarantee that the software included with the product will meet specific requirements or operate without errors. The product is provided "as is" regarding software functionality. We may update the product’s design, firmware, or manufacturing processes without obligation to modify previously sold products.
This warranty does not cover: (a) normal wear and tear; (b) damage due to accident, misuse, neglect, improper handling, electrical stress, or acts of nature; (c) unauthorized modifications; (d) data loss due to interoperability with other systems or software. BitWaldex, its affiliates, or agents are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages, including loss of profits, cryptocurrency, or business interruption, except as mandated by South African law. Our liability will not exceed the purchase price of the product.
To make a warranty claim, contact BitWaldex at [email protected] within the Warranty Period, providing proof of purchase (including date, place, and reseller details) and the product name and version. Unused products may be returned under our Refund Policy.
Before returning the product, back up any sensitive data and erase the device. BitWaldex is not responsible for loss or damage to data stored on the product.
We may, at our discretion, repair the product, replace it with an equivalent product, or refund the original purchase price (or fair market value if lower) if repair or replacement is not feasible. Within the first six (6) months, repairs or replacements for defective products are provided at no cost, including parts, labor, and return shipping, as required by the CPA. After six months, you are responsible for return shipping costs, including insurance. If returned uninsured, you assume all risks of loss or damage during shipment.
If we determine the product’s failure is not due to a defect in materials or workmanship, we may charge for parts and labor at our standard rates or a 20% restocking fee, with prior notification. Returned products become the property of BitWaldex.
This warranty does not affect your statutory rights under the South African Consumer Protection Act or other applicable laws.
